    About the role#

    As a Student Advocate, you will serve as the primary mentor for a caseload of 30-35 high school scholars. You will work directly with students to promote their academic achievement, personal development, and college or career readiness. This role involves building strong relationships with scholars and their families to ensure they have the support needed to thrive.

    What you'll do#

    • Provide one-on-one advising, coaching, and support sessions to monitor progress and address challenges.
    • Develop, implement, and track individualized Action Plans and SMART Goals for each scholar.
    • Maintain accurate student records, case notes, and progress reports.
    • Plan and facilitate grade-level Seminar classes, workshops, and leadership development activities.
    • Collaborate with teachers, families, and internal teams to coordinate comprehensive support for scholars.
    • Track academic standing, including grades, attendance, and progress toward graduation.

    What you'll need#

    • A Bachelor’s degree.
    • At least one year of experience working with youth in an educational, counseling, case management, or community-based setting.
    • Knowledge of the New York City school system.
    • Ability to manage multiple priorities and maintain accurate documentation.

    Location & details#

    • Location: New York, New York.
    • Work Modality: On-site.
    • Salary: $45,000-$50,000 per year.
    • Schedule: During the school year, hours are Monday-Thursday from 12:00 PM-8:00 PM and Friday from 10:00 AM-6:00 PM. Summer hours are Monday-Friday from 8:00 AM-4:00 PM.
