About the role#
This internship provides an opportunity to learn best practices in real estate investment and property management. Working under the direction of the Insurance Manager, you will gain hands-on experience in risk management within a corporate office environment.
What you'll do#
- Support the insurance manager in administering property and casualty insurance programs.
- Provide support for insurance quotes.
- Participate in underwriter meetings and claims activities, including weekly claims calls and bi-weekly litigation calls.
- Assist with claim resolution issues.
- Evaluate incident reports to identify gaps in information and recommend corrective actions.
- Support operations compliance functions, including renters insurance, vendor insurance standards, and reasonable accommodations.
- Complete other projects as assigned.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in a 4-year accredited program with a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.5.
- A 10-week commitment from June through August.
- Ability to travel for the Kick-Off and Capstone events.
- Computer proficiency and strong communication skills.
- Professionalism in work quality, attendance, and attitude.
- Organizational skills, good judgment, and dependability.
- Ability to take accountability, lead, and maintain working relationships with peers.
- Adherence to company mission, values, and policies.
- Ability to maintain professional dress and conduct.
