McCordsville Wellness Center Intern

About the role#

The McCordsville Wellness Center Intern will support daily operations at the Hancock Health facility. This position involves direct interaction with members, providing fitness floor coverage, and assisting with facility maintenance. Interns will work to support members in achieving their wellness goals while ensuring the facility operates smoothly.

What you'll do#

• Conduct initial workout orientations for new members, covering facility programs and equipment usage.
• Monitor member progress and schedule review appointments.
• Assist staff in the facilitation of group exercise classes, including setup, monitoring, and cleaning.
• Provide fitness floor coverage to assist members and guests with exercise-related questions.
• Manage administrative tasks such as scheduling appointments, maintaining pool chemicals, and operating facility computer systems.
• Enforce facility rules and promote center programs, services, and activities.
• Respond to emergency situations according to established policies and procedures.

What you'll need#

• Current enrollment or background in Kinesiology, Health Administration, or Public Health.
• BLS (Basic Life Saving) or CPR certification is required within 90 days of hire.
• Completion of mandatory continuing education in Customer Service, Fire and Safety, Corporate Compliance, and Infection Control.
• Ability to lift 25 pounds from floor to waist height and carry for up to 50 feet.
• Capability to work with minimal supervision and communicate clearly in English.
• No prior experience is required for this position.
