Greenfield Wellness Center Intern

About the role#

The Greenfield Wellness Center Intern supports daily operations by providing member service, maintaining facility standards, and assisting with fitness programs. This position works on-site at Hancock Health and is open to students in Kinesiology, Health Administration, or Public Health.

What you'll do#

• Conduct initial workout orientations for new members to introduce them to the facility, programs, and equipment.
• Monitor member progress and schedule review appointments to support their wellness goals.
• Assist staff with the setup, monitoring, and cleaning required for group exercise classes.
• Provide fitness floor coverage to answer member questions and ensure safety.
• Manage equipment maintenance, including reporting malfunctions and maintaining pool chemicals.
• Handle administrative tasks such as scheduling appointments, operating facility computer systems, and completing required learning modules.
• Enforce facility rules and promote center programs to members and guests.
• Respond to emergency situations according to established policy.

What you'll need#

• No prior experience is required.
• Ability to communicate clearly in English through both written and oral instruction.
• Skill in presenting technical information in a way that is easily understood by patients and members.
• Tactful interpersonal skills when working with patients, staff, and visitors.
• Must obtain BLS (Basic Life Saving) or CPR certification within 90 days of hire.
• Ability to work with minimal supervision and demonstrate initiative in completing tasks.
