About the role#
This internship provides an opportunity to gain hands-on experience in retail operations at H Mart. The program lasts for 6 weeks, requiring a commitment of 3 days per week for 6 hours each day, from September 8 to October 6, 2026.
What you'll do#
- Learn store operations policies, procedures, and professional competencies.
- Provide high-quality service by greeting customers, assisting with inquiries, and managing loyalty program rewards.
- Observe and analyze customer service techniques, including conflict resolution and identifying customer needs.
- Manage inventory tasks such as First-In, First-Out rotation, stock efficiency, and using inventory tracking tools.
- Arrange and display grocery items, produce, and specialty goods to learn about shelf-space optimization and consumer psychology.
- Monitor expiration dates, ensure accurate price labeling, and conduct store walks to improve store conditions.
- Attend department meetings and training sessions to develop subject matter expertise.
- Prepare a summary presentation or report on a specific operational area for management review at the end of the program.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment at Dallas College in Business or a relevant major.
- Knowledge of operational policies and procedures.
- Ability to prepare professional reports and presentations.
- Strong customer service skills.
- Understanding of inventory management practices.
