About the role#
This is a paid, part-time internship for the Fall 2026 term. The program lasts 6 weeks, requiring 3 days of work per week for 6 hours each day. You will gain hands-on experience in retail operations while shadowing leadership and participating in department meetings.
What you'll do#
- Acquire knowledge of store operations policies, procedures, and professional competencies.
- Prepare a summary presentation or report on a specific operational area for management review.
- Provide high-quality service by greeting customers and assisting with product inquiries or loyalty program rewards.
- Assist with inventory management, including rotation, stock efficiency, and using tracking tools.
- Monitor expiration dates and ensure accurate price labeling.
- Arrange and display grocery items, fresh produce, and specialty goods to understand shelf-space optimization.
- Conduct store walks to identify and improve store conditions.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment at Dallas College in Business or a relevant major.
- Knowledge of operational policies and procedures.
- Ability to prepare reports and presentations.
- Strong customer service skills.
- Knowledge of inventory management practices.
