    About the role#

    GZA GeoEnvironmental, Inc. is hiring a Geotechnical Co-op for the Winter 2027 term. You will work in Norwood, Massachusetts, on a variety of projects alongside project managers and principals. This is a paid, full-time position that requires on-site attendance. You will receive safety and quality training and mentorship from professional engineers.

    What you'll do#

    • Perform field tasks and assist with the technical execution of projects.
    • Oversee test borings and other subsurface explorations.
    • Conduct construction oversight of earthwork and foundations.
    • Collect and identify soil, rock, and groundwater samples.
    • Perform field index testing and prepare field reports, exploration logs, and figures.
    • Assist with geotechnical analyses and reports.
    • Complete additional engineering tasks across disciplines like environmental, ecology, and water resources.

    What you'll need#

    • Enrollment in a Bachelor's or Master's degree program in Civil Engineering or a related field.
    • Strong communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
    • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
    • A professional attitude and self-starter mindset.
    • Ability to perform field tasks according to safety and quality standards.
    • Reliable transportation to and from project sites.
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Office is preferred.

    • Term: Winter 2027.
    • Modality: On-site.
    • Compensation: Paid position, with an hourly rate ranging from $23.00 to $28.00 depending on experience and education.
