About the role#
Guinn, Vinopal & Zahradka LLP is hiring a Tax & Accounting Intern for the Winter 2027 term. This position provides hands-on experience in tax preparation and client service. You will work directly with individuals and small businesses to develop technical skills essential for a career in public accounting.
What you'll do#
- Prepare income tax returns for individuals and small businesses.
- Help with tax extensions and quarterly estimated tax payments.
- Create electronic tax workpapers to support filed returns.
- Review client documents to identify reportable income and deductions.
- Prepare missing information requests for clients.
- Perform account reconciliations using QuickBooks or similar software.
- Participate in tax training sessions to build technical knowledge.
- Assist with payroll and bookkeeping services.
- Maintain the confidentiality of client and firm information.
- Support the team with various projects as assigned.
What you'll need#
- Current pursuit of a bachelor's degree in Accounting or a related field.
- Authorization to work in the United States.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Excellent interpersonal and client service abilities.
- High attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
- Experience with QuickBooks or similar software is preferred.
- Being on track to meet the 150-credit CPA eligibility requirement is preferred.
- Ability to work overtime during peak periods is preferred.
