GPSU Cybersecurity Fall Internship

About the role#

As a participant in the GPSU Cybersecurity Internship, you will work alongside subject matter experts to provide security services. This program is designed to build your technical foundation through hands-on development, real-world security response, and collaborative project work.

What you'll do#

• Complete in-house training programs to build your security knowledge.
• Engage in hands-on technical development and real-world security response.
• Participate in team and position shadowing.
• Attend partner-led vendor training and earn certifications.

What you'll need#

• A basic understanding of information technology, networking, operating systems, and security.
• A genuine passion for information security and a motivation to learn new skills.
• Demonstrated effort toward entering the field, such as formal education in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or Business Administration, as well as certifications or personal projects.
• Availability for full-time hire no later than 2027.

Location & details#

• This is a paid, part-time, remote internship ($20/hr).
• The program runs from August 31, 2026, to November 20, 2026.
• You must be physically located in the United States for the duration of the internship. Note: This position is not available to residents of Alaska, California, Hawaii, New Mexico, New York, Oregon, Vermont, Washington, or Wyoming.
• Interns are expected to work 25-29 hours per week, with a majority of hours occurring between 11am and 4pm EST, Monday through Friday, to accommodate required trainings and shadowing.
• You must provide your own personal computing device and high-speed internet access.
