About the role#
The Safety Engineer Intern works with our safety professional to identify and improve processes within our manufacturing environment. You will help maintain a safe workplace for all employees.
What you'll do#
- Provide safety, health, accident prevention, and investigation training to staff.
- Inspect worksites with management to ensure safe conditions.
- Recommend ways to reduce or eliminate identified hazards.
- Investigate incidents thoroughly and document findings.
- Develop measures to prevent future accidents.
- Conduct job safety and PPE assessments.
- Recommend PPE purchases.
- Lead or participate in safety meetings.
- Handle additional tasks as needed.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in a relevant degree program, preferably in environmental health and safety.
- Knowledge of basic OSHA principles.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and Adobe Acrobat.
