Data Visualization & Analysis Intern

About the role#

This is a paid, 10-12 week internship for Summer 2026. You will join the analytics team to build Power BI dashboards that provide operational visibility to business leaders in the HVAC and plumbing industry. This role requires you to bridge the gap between technical data engineering and stakeholder communication by translating business questions into actionable data visualizations.

What you'll do#

• Partner with branch managers, operations leaders, and department heads to identify reporting needs and key performance questions.
• Design, build, and maintain Power BI dashboards tracking job performance, technician productivity, revenue trends, and branch-level comparisons.
• Write and optimize SQL queries to extract, transform, and model data from core systems, including ServiceTitan and Databricks.
• Convert raw data into intuitive visualizations for non-technical users.
• Document data definitions, metric logic, and dashboard usage to ensure long-term maintenance.
• Participate in sprint reviews and stakeholder demos to present your work.

What you'll need#

• Currently pursuing a degree in Data Science, Business Analytics, Information Systems, Computer Science, or a related field.
• Hands-on experience with Power BI, including building reports, writing DAX measures, and designing for usability.
• Proficiency in SQL, with experience writing joins, aggregations, CTEs, and filtering logic.
• Strong communication skills to translate business needs into technical data requirements.
• Ability to manage multiple dashboard requests in parallel.
• Preferred: Experience with cloud data platforms (Databricks, Snowflake, Azure Synapse), familiarity with field service operations, data modeling concepts, Python or PySpark, and Git for version control.

• Pay: $20-$24 per hour, based on experience.
