About the role#
Reporting to the Team Lead of Human Resources, this co-op position supports the daily operations of the People and Culture department. You will gain hands-on experience across various HR functions, including recruitment, employee wellness, benefits, and training. This role involves working directly with employees and leaders to contribute to organizational projects.
What you'll do#
- Manage personnel data and perform HRIS audits.
- Support the administration of group benefit plans and HR expenses.
- Analyze and report on quarterly employee wellness surveys.
- Assist with job description maintenance and compensation market research.
- Update company intranet pages using Sharepoint.
- Respond to employee HR inquiries and escalate as needed.
- Support the Talent Acquisition team with recruitment and candidate experience.
- Research provincial legislation and employment standards.
- Assist with company events, recognition programs, and training administration.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a Human Resources Management, Business Administration, or related post-secondary program.
- Previous experience in business administration or human resources is preferred.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, specifically Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Sharepoint.
- Strong organizational, planning, and time management skills.
- Ability to handle sensitive information with strict confidentiality.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.
- Capacity to work both independently and collaboratively within a team.
- Eligibility to obtain and maintain Canadian Controlled Goods and Canadian Government Security clearances.
