About the role#
Georgia Southern University is hiring a Student Assistant to serve as a Resident Director Administrator within University Housing on the Statesboro Campus. This position supports the Resident Life department starting in Fall 2026. You will assist complex leadership and peer staff to ensure the efficient operation of residential facilities.
What you'll do#
- Attend and participate in all required staff meetings and training sessions.
- Meet regularly with Resident Directors to assess community needs.
- Manage administrative tasks including data entry, printing, copying, scanning, and organizing documents.
- Handle hall supplies, including shopping for programming materials, managing petty cash, and maintaining inventory records.
- Assist with building operations, such as room inventories, maintenance walkthroughs, submitting work orders, and building opening or closing tasks.
- Update the building calendar and assist with communication efforts via email, newsletters, and social media.
- Support University events such as Eagle Preview and Admissions activities.
- Serve as a professional ambassador for the University and act as a role model for all housing policies.
- Address or notify staff regarding policy violations or crisis management concerns.
- Maintain confidentiality and ensure accurate recording of time worked.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in at least six undergraduate credit hours or three graduate credit hours at Georgia Southern University.
- Proficiency with computers, including Microsoft Office, Google applications, and other relevant software.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong organizational and human relations abilities.
- Ability to provide engaging customer service and support various University constituencies.
- A valid driver's license.
Location & details#
- Location: Statesboro, Georgia.
- Work Modality: On-site.
- Schedule: Up to 20 hours per week, with shifts available Monday through Friday between 8:00 AM and 5:00 PM, as well as nights and weekends.
- Pay: $8.75 per hour.
- Requirements: This position requires driving and may involve a motor vehicle report check.
