About the role#
This internship provides hands-on experience in event management at Georgia Aquarium. You will work with the Event Sales and Services team to support various functions, including weddings, corporate parties, and non-profit fundraisers. The program is structured to help you progress from shadowing event coordinators to eventually leading an event yourself.
What you'll do#
- Shadow staff through all phases of event planning, setup, execution, and breakdown.
- Manage event timelines by coordinating with catering captains.
- Support client and vendor interactions.
- Oversee event volunteers.
- Handle administrative duties and daily office tasks.
- Solve problems as they arise during events.
What you'll need#
- An interest or major in hospitality, event management, or a related field.
- You must be at least 21 years of age.
- A high school diploma or GED.
- Ability to work independently and collaborate within a team.
- Strong communication and customer service skills.

- Location: Atlanta, Georgia.
- Term: Winter 2027.
- Modality: On-site.
- This is a paid internship.
- Expect a schedule of 20-24 hours per week, spanning 3-4 days. This includes potential work on weekends and holidays.
- You may be required to lift up to 50 pounds and work around saltwater environments.
