About the role#
This internship provides hands-on experience within the Hillsboro Technical Operations organization. You will work on business-critical projects related to commercial drug product and finished goods manufacturing. Under the guidance of a manager, you will provide technical support, engineering solutions, and operational learning enhancements. At the end of the program, you will present your findings and recommendations to senior leadership through oral and poster presentations.
What you'll do#
- Monitor process performance and identify opportunities for improvement.
- Perform equipment troubleshooting and apply Lean Manufacturing tools to reduce waste.
- Participate in the qualification and validation of pharmaceutical processes and systems.
- Collaborate with the Manufacturing Academy to drive business process improvements.
- Integrate Virtual Reality and Augmented Reality tools into training simulations.
- Support raw material and drug product testing while monitoring environmental and aseptic controls.
- Ensure cGMP compliance and assist in technical investigations for process deviations or quality improvements.
- Support technical development related to process changes and technology transfers.
- Apply engineering and scientific principles to improve aseptic processing equipment like isolators, filling lines, and sterilization systems.
- Use data collection and analytics techniques to identify trends and actionable insights.
What you'll need#
- Must be 18 years of age or older with a high school diploma or GED.
- Currently pursuing or have attained an Associate's, Bachelor's, or Master's degree within the last 2 years.
- Background in Mechanical, Chemical, Electrical, Biomedical, or Industrial Engineering, Computer Science, Bioscience Technology, or a related technical field.
- Strong communication, collaboration, and interpersonal skills.
- Interest in process monitoring, Lean Manufacturing tools, data analytics, and root-cause troubleshooting.
- Ability to organize, prioritize, and meet project deadlines.
- Familiarity with presentation tools such as PowerPoint, Google Slides, or Lucid.
- Baseline knowledge of cGMP standards, quality assurance, or aseptic processing principles.

- Location: Hillsboro, Oregon.
- Term: Summer 2027 (12 weeks, full-time).
