About the role#
The Gateway Grizzlies offer an internship for students seeking hands-on experience in professional sports. This role focuses on ticket operations and client relations at our ballpark in Sauget, Illinois. The position runs from January through May 2027.
What you'll do#
- Answer phone calls and general questions about the organization.
- Make sales calls using provided lead lists and cold calling.
- Assist with ticketing and logistics for group sales and season ticket holders.
- Manage suites and all-inclusive areas during games.
- Help customers at the front window with ticket purchases.
- Work at the front gate as a ticket scanner, usher, or giveaway team member.
- Support other stadium departments, including the concession stand and team store.
- Assist with sales operations, account reviews, and database updates.
- Engage with clients and sponsors during events at Arsenal BG Ballpark.
- Participate in community appearances, potentially as the mascot.
What you'll need#
- Must be enrolled in a program for college credit.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to work well in a team and solve problems quickly.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office programs like Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Publisher.
- Organizational skills and the ability to balance multiple tasks.
- Willingness to lift up to 50 lbs for event set up and take down.
- Flexibility to work long days, evenings, weekends, and holidays.

- Term: Winter 2027 (January through May).
- Modality: On-site.
- Compensation: This is an unpaid internship, though candidates may work games and extra events for an hourly rate. Housing is not provided.
