About the role#
This internship provides undergraduate students with direct exposure to the research, analysis, and problem-solving that support international security and government services. You will work one-on-one with a senior business leader, managing defined workstreams and producing professional outputs. This role focuses on providing meaningful ownership, mentorship, and practical experience in a global operational environment.
What you'll do#
- Work directly with a business leader to research priority questions and follow through on workstreams.
- Maintain trackers, briefing notes, decision logs, and contact research.
- Consolidate information from operations, risk, and commercial stakeholders.
- Coordinate with in-country or functional colleagues to gather information.
- Conduct open-source research on countries, clients, sectors, and competitors.
- Assess source quality and document findings for future use.
- Turn complex information into executive summaries and briefing notes.
- Identify emerging developments, patterns, and risks.
- Support country and operational monitoring and risk reporting.
- Analyze public procurement material and market developments.
- Support approved AI initiatives for research, reporting, and process improvement.
- Validate AI-assisted outputs through human review.
- Maintain structured information in Microsoft Excel, SharePoint, or Power BI.
What you'll need#
- Current undergraduate student in good academic standing.
- Strong interest in international business, government services, security, geopolitical affairs, risk, operations, data, or applied AI.
- Ability to commit 10-20 hours per week.
- Strong research, critical-thinking, and written communication skills.
- High attention to detail, sound judgment, and intellectual curiosity.
- Working proficiency in Microsoft Office.
- Professionalism, discretion, and the ability to handle confidential information.
- Ability to satisfy work-authorization and employment requirements.
- Academic background in International Relations, Political Science, Economics, Business Administration, Data Science, Computer Science, or Communications.
