About the role#
As an Engineering Systems Development Intern, you will help improve the digital tools and workflows that keep our company running. You will work alongside our engineering, project management, finance, and operations teams to replace manual tasks with automated solutions. This role focuses on system integration, data analysis, and software configuration to make our internal processes more accurate and efficient.
What you'll do#
- Build and improve internal systems, applications, and automated workflows.
- Analyze current processes to find ways to reduce manual work.
- Integrate project management, accounting, timekeeping, and engineering platforms.
- Create reports, dashboards, and data-validation tools.
- Manage databases, perform data cleanup, and assist with system migrations.
- Write scripts, use APIs, or build low-code automations to connect systems.
- Test new features and system configurations while troubleshooting data issues.
- Document system architecture and operating procedures.
- Gather requirements from department leaders and employees.
- Evaluate emerging technologies, including artificial intelligence tools.
- Support data governance, cybersecurity, and permissions practices.
- Present your completed projects and recommendations to company leadership.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a degree program for engineering, computer science, information systems, data analytics, or a related field.
- Basic experience with at least one of the following: Python, SQL, JavaScript, APIs, Power BI, or Microsoft Power Platform.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- The ability to translate complex processes into organized, practical solutions.
- Clear written and verbal communication skills.
- High attention to detail and a focus on data accuracy.
- An interest in engineering operations and business systems.
- The ability to work independently and collaborate across different departments.
