This internship provides practical experience in managing IT inventory and troubleshooting communication systems. The role is designed to build technical proficiency and professional agility within a government administration environment.
What you'll do#
- Collaborate with the IT Support Officer on daily operations and ongoing projects.
- Provide technical support and troubleshooting assistance for staff.
- Install, configure, and maintain computer hardware, software, and networks.
- Help maintain network connectivity, including Wi-Fi setup and troubleshooting.
- Participate in system testing, software updates, and the implementation of new technologies.
- Assist in the relocation of heavy equipment weighing up to 50lbs.
- Manage IT inventory for the corporate office and stores.
- Design graphical workflows for corporate services functions and update internal documentation.
- Assist in establishing a records management system.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in a degree program such as Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Cybersecurity, Electrical Engineering, or Business Administration.
- Ability to ensure compliance with ICT policies, data protection standards, and cybersecurity practices.
- Capability to handle physical tasks, including moving equipment.
