About the role#
As an Imaging Student at FMOL Health, you will work under the guidance of a licensed technologist. This role focuses on supporting daily radiology operations and learning clinical procedures. You will gain hands-on experience while adhering to safety and quality standards.
What you'll do#
- Assist with imaging duties, excluding the administration of radiation.
- Process imaging exams and evaluate film for technical quality.
- Transport patients to the radiology department and prepare rooms for exams.
- Maintain radiology equipment, perform preventive maintenance, and contact service providers for major repairs.
- Check and order supplies to ensure the department remains stocked.
- Prepare documentation such as progress reports and treatment plans.
- Follow all departmental policies, including safety, environmental, and infection control standards.
- Participate in educational programs and meetings to support your professional growth.
- Request supervisory assistance when needed and stay within your scope of practice.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a radiologic program.
- Ability to pass required health and screening tests.
- Capacity to work effectively in a busy clinical environment.
- Ability to lift, push, or pull up to 50 pounds.
- Physical ability to stand for long periods, transfer patients, and perform tasks requiring manual dexterity.
- Willingness to work with personal protective equipment and follow universal precautions regarding blood and body fluids.
