About the role#
This internship provides a hands-on look at the daily operations of a feed yard. You will rotate through the mill, feeding, cattle, and yard departments to gain a comprehensive understanding of how the facility functions. This is a full-time, paid position based in Johnstown, Colorado.
What you'll do#
- Rotate through the mill, feeding, cattle, and yard operations.
- Learn and perform daily tasks within each department.
- Comply with OSHA, FDA, and EPA regulations while maintaining accurate compliance records.
- Model safe work practices for the team.
- Participate in department meetings and contribute to special projects.
What you'll need#
- An undergraduate degree in agriculture or a related field in progress.
- Proficiency with word processing, spreadsheet, and database software.
- A valid driver's license.
- Ability to read and interpret safety rules, operating manuals, and technical procedures.
- Strong mathematical skills, including the ability to work with fractions, percentages, ratios, and statistical inference.
- Capability to solve practical problems and interpret instructions provided in written, oral, or diagram form.

- This role involves working outdoors in various weather conditions near cattle, horses, and heavy equipment. The environment can be loud, and you will frequently work near moving mechanical parts or at heights.
