About the role#
FML offers tax internships that provide exposure to public accounting. You will work with staff, seniors, managers, directors, and partners on tasks for clients ranging from small businesses to multi-national corporations. This role serves as a way to gain real-world experience and build a foundation for a career in tax accounting.
What you'll do#
- Build working relationships with colleagues and client personnel.
- Prepare tax returns by using prior year work papers as a guide.
- Create organized, concise, and properly referenced work papers.
- Identify technical issues within engagements.
- Manage open items lists.
- Develop familiarity with research tools like CCH, RIA, and BNA.
- Participate in firm orientation, training, and mentoring activities.
- Maintain a professional, business-like demeanor.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in a Bachelor of Science or Master of Science program in Accounting.
- A goal of meeting the educational requirements to become a certified public accountant.
- Strong academic standing.
- Demonstrated leadership and problem-solving skills.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- The ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- The ability to handle multiple assignments and prioritize tasks effectively.
