Material Supply Assistant (Summer Student)

About the role#

Finning is seeking a Material Supply Assistant for a temporary summer position at the Syncrude Field facility. This role involves performing general shipping, receiving, and warehousing duties. The position is a full-time, paid role expected to last until September 1, 2026. This role is part of a unionized environment, and membership is required.

What you'll do#

• Pick customer and branch parts orders.
• Pack and label parts orders for shipment.
• Sort and bin incoming stock.
• Load and unload parts trucks.

What you'll need#

• High school diploma (Grade 12).
• Demonstrated computer literacy.
• Strong commitment to safety and ability to work under minimal supervision.
• Excellent interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills.
• Previous warehousing and core inspection experience.
• Preferred assets include TDG and WHMIS certification, forklift training, and experience with radio frequency and bar-coding technology.
• Currently pursuing studies in Logistics or Business Administration.

• Location: Syncrude Field, Fort McMurray, AB, Canada.
• Work Modality: On-site.
• Shift: 5x2 schedule (Monday to Friday), though hours and shifts may be subject to change to meet operational requirements.
