Data Quality Analyst Intern

About the role#

Finning is seeking a Data Quality Analyst Intern to support critical data quality initiatives across asset and customer records. This role focuses on improving the accuracy, completeness, and reliability of data used by business systems and digital integrations. You will work in a structured environment, performing high-volume validation and remediation tasks while contributing to business transformation initiatives. This is a full-time, paid internship.

What you'll do#

• Review, validate, and update asset and customer data across multiple systems.
• Perform data cleansing and remediation activities to improve data accuracy.
• Conduct frequent customer outreach, primarily by phone, to validate, confirm, and enrich information.
• Investigate data discrepancies and identify the root causes of recurring quality issues.
• Document findings, patterns, and recommendations to support long-term improvements.
• Maintain accurate records and audit trails of all updates and outreach outcomes.

What you'll need#

• Currently enrolled in or recently completed a post-secondary program in Data Science, Business Administration, Statistics, Computer Science, Mathematics, or a related field.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office applications.
• Strong attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining data accuracy.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Comfort performing repetitive, detail-oriented work for extended periods.

• Term: Rolling, 4-6 months in duration.
