About the role#
Based at our R&D facility in Rochester, you will support the Engineering, Operations, and Product teams. You will work on the design, development, and scaling of food processing technologies. This role involves experimental design, data collection, and analysis to move key projects forward. It is a fit for those interested in applied engineering and building new food systems.
What you'll do#
- Assist in the design, testing, and improvement of food processing equipment and systems.
- Support experimentation and process optimization through data collection, analysis, and documentation.
- Operate and troubleshoot pilot-scale equipment and instrumentation.
- Document designs, test results, and process learnings in clear, organized formats.
- Contribute to cross-functional project updates and development timelines.
- Work safely in lab and pilot manufacturing environments following all safety procedures and operational standards.
- Support day-to-day pilot facility operations.
- Assist with basic maintenance, calibration, and organization of tools, equipment, and workspaces.
- Identify and communicate equipment issues, process inefficiencies, or improvement opportunities.
- Participate in training sessions and team meetings.
What you'll need#
- Pursuing a degree in Mechanical, Chemical, Industrial, or Electrical Engineering, or a related technical field.
- Demonstrated technical, analytical, or quantitative experience.
- Strong communication, organization, and problem-solving skills.
- Interest in manufacturing systems, process engineering, or applied technology development.
