About the role#
Farmer Focus offers a 10-week paid summer internship program designed to provide hands-on experience across various business operations. You will be assigned to a department that aligns with your program of study, such as Marketing, Finance, Accounting, Sales, Supply Chain, or Human Resources. Throughout the summer, you will work closely with a supervisor to develop a personal learning plan, receive one-on-one mentorship, and contribute to projects that support our mission of protecting generational family farms.
What you'll do#
- Assist with daily duties and projects relevant to your assigned department.
- Create and maintain a learning plan that meets your academic goals.
- Collaborate with team members and cross-functional partners.
- Receive regular coaching and professional support.
- Participate in all intern and company-hosted events.
- Perform additional tasks as needed to support your learning objectives.
What you'll need#
- You must be at least 18 years old.
- Enrollment in an accredited program of study or recent graduation.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and work dependably.
- An energetic, professional, and team-oriented approach.
- A willingness to work a varied schedule, which may include nights or early mornings.
- Intellectual curiosity and a strong desire to learn.
- Bilingual English/Spanish skills are encouraged.
Location & details#
- This is a full-time, 40-hour per week internship for Summer 2027.
- The role is primarily on-site in Harrisonburg, Virginia, though some remote work may be available for select Marketing or Sales assignments.
- Compensation is $20 per hour.
- Occasional local travel between company locations in Harrisonburg may be required.
- Some assignments require work in production environments with varying temperatures, where protective gear is mandatory.
