About the role#
This is a paid internship opportunity within the Inside CAT Team. You will gain exposure to the insurance industry and corporate operations through a mix of hands-on project work, networking, and professional development activities. This role is based at our Home Office in West Des Moines, Iowa.
What you'll do#
- Support the Inside CAT Team with daily task management.
- Monitor and report on key metrics like claim representative inventory, call volumes, and email counts.
- Handle email monitoring and the reassignment of claims.
- Upload prior claims and endorsements into our system.
- Delegate reviews for independent adjusters.
- Participate in corporate activities designed to provide insight into our organization and culture.
What you'll need#
- You are a current full-time college student. Completion of at least one year of college is preferred.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to build rapport with different personalities.
- You must be comfortable spending a significant portion of your day on the telephone, especially during high-volume storm events.
- Strong organizational and multi-tasking skills with a high level of attention to detail.
- Ability to exercise independent judgment and make decisions using sound, logical reasoning.
- Ability to learn new tasks quickly and follow instructions.
- You must be authorized to work in the United States on a full-time, permanent basis without sponsorship.
