About the role#
Expresco is hiring an intern to assist with production planning and import operations. This role focuses on balancing manufacturing output, maintaining inventory accuracy, and managing the logistics of raw material imports and exports. You will work on-site at our Montreal facility.
What you'll do#
- Create weekly production schedules and coordinate manufacturing processes.
- Evaluate inventory flow and adjust replenishment as needed.
- Balance operational outputs to reduce idle time and meet delivery targets.
- Partner with Customer Service to manage back orders and inventory trends.
- Prepare documentation for raw material imports and exports.
- Liaise with suppliers, customs brokers, and government inspectors including the CFIA and CBSA.
- Manage IREP and Duty Deferred bank balances.
- Coordinate outbound export logistics and warehouse loading.
- Track shipments and resolve logistics issues.
- Oversee inventory transfers across multiple sites.
- Maintain production and inventory reports using Microsoft Excel.
- Support initiatives to improve operational efficiency and inventory accuracy.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a bachelor’s degree program in Commerce, ideally with a major in Supply Chain or Operations Management.
- Proficiency in both English and French.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Excel.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently or as part of a team.
- Professionalism and clear communication skills.
- Knowledge of ERP or MRP systems and import/export processes is an asset.
