Project Intern

About the role#

ESI, Inc. is seeking a Project Intern to assist our project teams on electrical construction projects during the Summer 2026 term. This full-time, paid position offers exposure to the full lifecycle of construction management, including system design, cost estimating, scheduling, and quality management. This role requires on-site attendance in Columbus, Ohio.

What you'll do#

• Support a project team consisting of a Project Manager, Project Engineer, and a Superintendent.
• Coordinate project drawings and documents, including distribution to bidders and relevant project parties.
• Prepare essential project documentation such as submittals, meeting minutes, change orders, and bid proposals.
• Maintain project matrices for document control and track RFIs, drawings, and change orders using Microsoft Excel.
• Develop drawings for the installation of electrical components.
• Interface professionally with architects, trade contractors, vendors, and management teams.

What you'll need#

• Completion of at least two years toward a B.S. degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering at an accredited college or university.
• Strong computer proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and AutoCAD.
• Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
• Strong organizational and planning capabilities.
• A valid driver's license and a safe driving record, as this position requires driving.
• Ability to pass a background check, credit check, MVR, and drug screen.
