Project Intern

About the role#

This is a full-time, paid internship at ESI, Inc. supporting an electrical construction project team. You will work alongside a Project Manager, Project Engineer, and Superintendent to assist with daily operations and project execution. This role requires on-site work in Lima, Ohio.

What you'll do#

• Gain exposure to electrical system design, cost estimating, planning, scheduling, materials procurement, cost control, and quality management.
• Assist with drawing and document coordination, including distributing documents to bidders and maintaining project organization.
• Prepare project documentation such as submittals, meeting minutes, change orders, and bid proposals.
• Develop and maintain project matrices for document control, including tracking RFIs, drawings, and change orders using Microsoft Excel.
• Develop drawings for the installation of electrical components.
• Interface with architects, trade contractors, vendors, and management teams.

What you'll need#

• Completion of at least two years toward a B.S. degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering at an accredited college or university.
• Strong computer skills, specifically in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and AutoCAD.
• Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
• Strong organizational and planning abilities.
• A valid driver’s license and a safe driving record, as this position requires driving.
• Ability to pass background, credit, and drug screenings if required.
