About the role#
This IT Intern position provides entry-level support to the Georgia division of Ernst Concrete. You will develop foundational technical skills through hands-on experience while working under the supervision of IT leadership. This is a part-time role, with hours typically scheduled for less than thirty hours per week. Your primary office location will be in either Kennesaw or Lawrenceville, depending on your residence and departmental needs.
What you'll do#
- Serve as a secondary contact for small technology issues.
- Observe and assist with troubleshooting computer hardware, software, printers, VoIP phones, and security cameras.
- Assist with the setup, imaging, and configuration of endpoints for users.
- Perform physical inventory of IT assets and report any discrepancies.
- Manage cabling, labeling, and the organization of equipment rooms.
- Assist with the physical installation and inspection of network hardware and security cameras at plant locations.
- Document all work performed in the company ticketing system.
- Assist with preparing, retiring, and staging equipment.
- Help maintain standard operating procedures and equipment records.
- Travel to local Georgia plants as directed to provide support or retrieve equipment.
- Report suspected security threats or unusual system behavior immediately.
- Complete all assigned training.
What you'll need#
- Currently enrolled in or recently completed a technology-related program of study.
- Proficiency in basic desktop computer skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to read, write, and speak English proficiently.
- A valid Georgia driver's license.
- Ability to lift up to 30 pounds.
