The Turf Management Intern will support the maintenance and preparation of UPMC Ball Park and surrounding campus grounds. This role provides hands-on experience in groundskeeping while supporting the Erie SeaWolves Minor League Baseball season and various venue events.
What you'll do#
- Assist with game day preparations and the setup or tear down of batting practice equipment.
- Support the Head Groundskeeper with non-game day tasks, including fertilization, aerification, sodding, mowing, pruning, weeding, and edging.
- Gain practical experience in spraying, irrigation maintenance, and general field upkeep.
- Help with infield tarp management, including laying down and rolling up, as well as water removal.
- Assist with the setup for concerts, corporate events, and general site maintenance such as applying clay, raking, sweeping, and debris removal.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in or recent graduation from a two- or four-year Turf or Horticulture program.
- Ability to work in a physically demanding environment.
- A flexible schedule with the availability to work long hours, holidays, and weekends throughout the baseball season.
