About the role#
Join the Research and Development team in Ottawa, a center for computer security innovation. You will work with senior developers on Entrust Identity as a Service. This is an 8-month, full-time internship starting January 4, 2027. You will gain experience through assignments that contribute to the business.
What you'll do#
- Design and develop new features using Java, JavaScript, TypeScript, and React.
- Build and code unit tests plus test infrastructure in Java and JavaScript to verify software functionality.
- Set up your development environment using Spring, Spring Boot, Docker, and AWS.
- Use tools such as Gradle, Git, Jira, and Confluence to manage, build, and test your code.
- Coordinate your activities within a team of developers.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in an undergraduate Computer Science or Software Engineering program with at least two years of course work completed.
- Ability to commit to an 8-month full-time internship.
- Experience programming in multiple languages and an understanding of object-oriented design and design patterns.
- Comfort working with Mac OS or Unix/Linux operating systems.
- Strong attention to detail, time management, and planning skills.
- Effective communication and writing abilities.
- Interest in learning about Authentication, SAML, OIDC, OAuth, X.509, Smart cards, DevOps, AWS, and Docker.
- A focus on the customer perspective.
Location & details#
- Location: Ottawa, Ontario, Canada (Hybrid).
- Compensation: $23.00 - $28.00 per hour, based on education, skills, and experience.
- Employment Type: Full-time internship.
