The Information Services Epic Training Intern supports the implementation and ongoing training of the Epic electronic health record (EHR) system. This is a temporary, per diem position based in Chico, California. Interns are responsible for learning Epic module functionality, documenting end-user workflows, and ensuring that training materials are accurate and up to date. Successful candidates must complete the Epic credentialing process, which includes a 3–4 week training program, a teaching presentation, and a credentialing exam.
What you'll do#
- Deliver in-classroom instruction for assigned Epic application roles to diverse audiences, including new employees and contractors.
- Provide customer support for Epic training and record issues in the IS ticketing system accurately and in detail.
- Assist with go-live support for end users during project activation periods.
- Develop and maintain training materials, including online eLearning content.
- Manage the readiness and scheduling of training rooms.
- Participate in project meetings and assist with other training-related duties as assigned.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a two or four-year degree program in IT, Education, or a healthcare-related field.
- Ability to learn Epic module functionality and obtain credentialed status.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to deliver training to both large groups and individuals.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office products and desktop applications.
- Experience in providing technical or customer support is required.
- Experience in software implementations, training program design, or healthcare environments with an EHR is preferred.
- Ability to organize, prioritize, and document complex clinical or business workflows.
Location & details#
- Location: Chico, California (Business Services Center).
- Modality: On-site.
- Schedule: Day shift, 8-hour shifts, Monday through Friday.
- Compensation: $18.35 – $24.78 per hour, based on experience.
