Social Media Content Creator Intern

About the role#

Empire State Realty Trust is seeking a part-time Social Media Content Creator Intern to support the marketing team in executing digital initiatives for the Empire State Building and the company’s broader portfolio. This role focuses on conceptualizing, shooting, and editing creative assets to grow social media audiences.

What you'll do#

• Create snackable visual content, including short-form videos, memes, GIFs, and dynamic media assets with a primary focus on TikTok and Instagram.
• Strategically shoot and edit video and photo content to tell engaging stories for the Empire State Building and ESRT audiences.
• Monitor trending video content on Reels and TikTok to develop brand-aligned, timely content.
• Identify opportunities for high-engagement, brand-building content.
• Pitch weekly video and content concepts to the Social Media Manager.
• Utilize tools such as Adobe Creative Cloud (Photoshop, Premiere, Illustrator) and FinalCut Pro to deliver projects.

What you'll need#

• Current enrollment in a four-year or five-year undergraduate program, ideally in Marketing, Communications, Media Studies, Graphic Design, or Business Administration.
• Demonstrated experience in content creation, including video production, editing, and photography.
• A portfolio or examples of relevant work.
• Familiarity with social platforms including Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Pinterest, YouTube, Snapchat, and TikTok; knowledge of WeChat and Weibo is a plus.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to interact with personnel at all levels.
• Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously and work in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to lift up to 15 pounds and perform desk-based computer work.
