About the role#
EMH&T offers a paid summer internship for civil engineering students in Columbus, Ohio. This full-time position provides an opportunity to apply your academic knowledge to real-world projects. You will work alongside experienced professionals who provide coaching and feedback to help you grow your skills. You will participate in project activities and collaborate with teams across various disciplines, including public works, transportation, and land site development.
What you'll do#
- Prepare calculations, plans, reports, data, and other project documents.
- Conduct research using plans, specifications, municipal resources, and design standards.
- Collaborate with engineers, designers, surveyors, and project managers.
- Work on projects involving site development, grading, drainage, utilities, transportation, and public infrastructure.
- Develop proficiency with engineering and design software.
- Apply classroom knowledge to practical engineering assignments.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a technical or bachelor’s degree program in civil engineering.
- Legal authorization to work in the United States without time limitations.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to follow technical instructions and established procedures.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills.
- Willingness to seek knowledge, take ownership of assignments, and apply feedback.
- Dependability and professionalism.

- Schedule: Full-time, 40 hours per week, Monday through Friday.
