About the role#
The Credit and Collections Intern supports the Finance team in managing customer accounts and monitoring accounts receivable. This role provides hands-on experience in credit analysis and financial operations. You will work with experienced professionals to develop skills in business-to-business collections and credit risk management.
What you'll do#
- Monitor customer account activity to identify potential credit or collection concerns.
- Research and resolve billing discrepancies, payment disputes, and deductions.
- Prepare aging reports and other account analysis documents.
- Assist with customer account reconciliations and general accounts receivable maintenance.
- Support month-end reporting and administrative tasks.
- Participate in departmental process improvement projects.
- Gain exposure to financial reporting and credit management practices.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a Bachelor's degree program for Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, Economics, or a related field.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office applications.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- A positive attitude and a willingness to learn.
- Previous experience in finance, accounting, business, or customer service is preferred.
- Familiarity with financial statements, basic accounting principles, or Excel functions like pivot tables and formulas is a plus.
