About the role#
As an Engineering Intern at EEI, you will bring your classroom learning to real projects. You will work on active client and internal assignments that align with your field of study. Under the guidance of experienced professionals, you will support technical reviews, calculations, research, and design documentation. This role offers practical exposure to how multidisciplinary teams plan, solve problems, and deliver work for complex facilities.
What you'll do#
- Apply classroom theories and technical concepts to active project needs.
- Support project planning, coordination, meetings, site visits, and field observations.
- Assist with data collection, analysis, calculations, cost estimating, and design support.
- Prepare and review drawings, specifications, reports, schedules, and project deliverables.
- Participate in coaching, technical learning, and professional development opportunities.
- Communicate progress, confirm priorities, and raise questions early.
- Follow company safety, quality, and project procedures.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a university program for Computer, Electrical, or Mechanical Engineering.
- Foundational coursework in engineering, construction, project management, or business operations.
- Ability to follow instructions, ask thoughtful questions, and apply feedback.
- Strong organization, analytical thinking, and communication skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and Teams.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a project team.
- Current authorization to work in the United States on a full-time basis.
- Ability to provide your own transportation to client sites.
- Preferred experience includes relevant academic projects, internships, or exposure to building systems, commissioning, and energy consulting.

- Location: Atlanta, Georgia.
- Work Modality: Hybrid mix of office, remote, and field environments.
- Compensation: $25.00 per hour.
- Status: Full-time, paid internship with a rolling term.
