About the role#
The School of Art and Design at East Carolina University is hiring Ceramics Studio Assistants to support the operations and maintenance of the ceramics area in the Jenkins Fine Arts Center. This role involves maintaining a clean and functional workspace to support the educational mission of the studio. You may be asked to work evenings or weekends.
What you'll do#
- Perform routine upkeep and maintenance of the facilities.
- Clean and organize instructional areas, sinks, and common shelves.
- Maintain common tables, wheels, slab rollers, and kiln furniture shelves.
- Monitor and report the status of the survey room, kiln room, and glaze room to instructors.
- Manage studio cleanliness by cleaning spills, picking up debris, and mopping regularly to keep dust levels low.
What you'll need#
- Must be a current ECU student in good standing.
- Minimum 2.0 GPA.
- Must qualify and receive a Federal Work Study award from the ECU Financial Aid Office.
- Some knowledge or experience with ceramics equipment and processes is helpful.
Location & details#
- Location: Greenville, North Carolina (On-site).
- Terms: Fall 2026, Winter 2027, and Spring 2027.
- Pay: $10.00 to $12.00 per hour.
