Middle School Dean of Student Life

About the role#

The Middle School Dean of Student Life is responsible for leading after-school, summer, enrichment, and athletic programs while driving positive culture and outcomes for students and families. Reporting to the Principal, this role is essential to the success of the school's extended-day and extended-year programming.

What you'll do#

• Lead the execution of after-school, summer, and school-day enrichment, recess, and athletic programs.
• Serve as the primary instructional coach for enrichment teachers, including providing actionable feedback on lesson plans and classroom observations.
• Manage the execution of competitive athletics programming and oversee staff recruitment and onboarding for these areas.
• Collaborate with network leaders to design and implement high-quality curriculum that supports social-emotional learning and academic outcomes.
• Develop and monitor effective systems to ensure accurate reporting, compliance with grant requirements, and timely communication regarding school incidents.
• Lead professional development for staff and supervise the Assistant Dean of Student Life.

What you'll need#

• Bachelor’s degree, preferably in education, social work, youth development, or a related field.
• At least 5 years of experience leading and managing youth development programming, highly preferred.
• Expertise in managing entry-level staff or working closely with high-school and college-aged students.
• Experience working in K-12 Charter Schools, highly preferred.
• A strong belief in the mission and values of DREAM.
• Ability to use data-driven practices to improve student outcomes and experience with positive youth-development principles.

• Commitment: Full-time
• Salary: $100,000 – $116,000
• Working hours: 9:00am–6:00pm, five days a week, with approximately 10 days per year requiring a 7:00am start.
