About the role#
As an Integrated Circuits Intern at Draper, you will join the Silicon Architecture group for the Summer 2027 term. You will contribute to the design of integrated circuits from initial concepts through to implementation, verification, and testing. This role involves working within a multidisciplinary team to solve complex engineering problems for defense and space applications.
What you'll do#
- Design and simulate circuits using functional modeling tools and at the transistor level.
- Perform SOC design trades between analog, digital hardware, and software implementations.
- Evaluate the feasibility and costs of algorithm implementation in hardware versus software.
- Participate in top-level verification planning and contribute to test plans.
- Conduct bench-level testing and generate reports including plots, tables, and evaluation criteria.
- Develop design documentation such as architectural descriptions and interface definitions.
- Complete assignments to build practical knowledge of engineering processes, equipment, and systems.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in an accredited full-time undergraduate or graduate degree program in Computer Engineering or Electrical Engineering.
- Proficiency with Cadence or equivalent integrated circuit design tools like Virtuoso, Genus, Innovus, Tempus, or Voltus.
- Strong mathematical, organizational, and time management skills.
- Proficiency in scripting languages such as Python or SKILL.
- Interest or experience in high-level mixed-signal modeling and verification tools like System Verilog, SV-RNM, or Verilog-AMS.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
