About the role#
We are looking for a Co-op Electrical Product Designer to join our Mobile Power Solutions team. You will support electronic design, prototype modification, and lab testing. This role is for a student who enjoys hands-on work and wants to build practical skills in circuit boards and measurement equipment. You will work both independently and as part of a team in an on-site lab environment.
What you'll do#
- Modify and rework PCBAs to support prototype bring-up, design changes, and troubleshooting.
- Perform electrical testing and validation in the lab.
- Support functional testing, debug, and root cause analysis of electronic circuits and assemblies.
- Assist with schematic development, component selection, and design updates.
- Execute assigned independent tasks or small design projects.
- Document test procedures, setups, results, and findings.
- Work with electrical, firmware, mechanical, and test engineers.
- Follow all lab procedures and maintain safe work practices.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in an Engineering program at an accredited university, preferably in electrical, electronic, mechatronic, or engineering-physics.
- Exposure to basic electronics and circuit theory.
- Hands-on experience with lab or electronic work.
- Ability to work on-site in a lab environment.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow safety-critical procedures.
- Clear written and verbal communication skills.
- Experience reading electrical schematics is preferred.
- Familiarity with basic PCB design or ECAD tools is preferred.
- Exposure to power electronics, DC systems, batteries, or motor control is preferred.
- Previous co-op, lab, or technical project experience is preferred.

- Employment Type: Full-time.
- Compensation: $24.00 - $28.00 CAD per hour.
