This internship provides high school students entering their senior year in the fall of 2026 with an opportunity to explore career pathways within local government. Interns will work alongside professionals across various departments to gain insight into the services provided by Dodge County. This is a paid, seasonal position for the summer of 2026.
What you'll do#
- Assist department members with ongoing projects and daily tasks.
- Observe and learn from mentors to understand the comprehensive services provided by County government.
- Participate in hands-on experiences by working alongside experienced professionals.
- Network with county employees and other interns.
- Create and deliver a presentation to the Dodge County Executive Committee highlighting your experiences and the career opportunities available in local government.
What you'll need#
- Current status as a high school student completing your junior year in spring 2026.
- Ability to communicate detailed and sensitive information effectively and concisely, both orally and in writing.
- Ability to adjust to changing priorities and work environments.
- Ability to maintain professionalism, confidentiality, and discretion at all times.
- Ability to prioritize tasks, manage time effectively, and meet deadlines.
- Ability to handle sensitive interpersonal situations calmly and tactfully.
- Ability to maintain effective working relationships with individuals within and outside the organization.
Location & details#
- Location: Juneau, Wisconsin.
- Schedule: 36 hours per week, Monday through Friday (with a half-day on Fridays).
- Term: Summer 2026 (June – August).
- Compensation: $15.00 per hour.
- Work Modality: On-site.
