The Public Engagement Intern supports the Public Engagement team in implementing communications plans and producing a program of live events. This role offers hands-on experience in MSF USA’s communications principles and initiatives, focusing on reaching audiences such as the medical and academic communities, youth, and the general public. Interns contribute to projects while providing logistical, administrative, and community engagement support to the Communications team.
What you'll do#
- Support and implement communications plans to increase public awareness and advocacy.
- Produce content for live events, public engagement activities, and social media.
- Develop external communications products across multiple channels to highlight humanitarian needs.
- Process speaker and resource requests for virtual and in-person events.
- Create public engagement toolkits and educational resources.
- Provide administrative and logistical support for public events with minimal supervision.
- Identify and analyze significant medical humanitarian issues for audience engagement.
What you'll need#
- Recent graduates or current students in communications, event management, global studies, public health, international relations, human resources, or marketing.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Experience with event planning or management.
- Working knowledge of Canva and Microsoft Office.
- A genuine commitment to humanitarian principles.
- Ability to work independently and manage tasks with limited supervision.
