About the role#
The Safety Intern supports our team in promoting a safety culture across active construction projects. This role offers hands-on experience with field operations, safety practices, and compliance. You will gain exposure to real-world jobsite conditions while contributing to safety initiatives.
What you'll do#
- Assist with daily jobsite safety inspections and audits.
- Support the implementation of company safety programs and policies.
- Help ensure compliance with OSHA and company safety standards.
- Participate in toolbox talks, safety meetings, and trainings.
- Observe and document jobsite conditions to identify potential hazards.
- Assist with incident reporting, investigations, and documentation.
- Track and organize safety data, logs, and compliance records.
- Partner with field teams to reinforce safe work practices.
- Contribute to the improvement of safety procedures.
What you'll need#
- Current pursuit of a degree in Occupational Safety, Construction Management, Environmental Health & Safety, or a related field.
- Interest in construction safety and field operations.
- A basic understanding of OSHA standards is preferred.
- Attention to detail and strong observational skills.
- Communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office including Excel, Word, and Outlook.
- Ability to walk jobsites, climb stairs or ladders, and work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
- Ability to wear required personal protective equipment such as hard hats, safety vests, and boots.
Location & details#
- Location: Holyoke, Massachusetts.
- This is a full-time, paid, on-site internship.
- We are accepting students from majors including Environmental Engineering, Business Administration, Health Administration, Public Health, and Kinesiology.
