Intern – Complex Communications Advisory (DGA Group Internship Program - Summer 2026)

About the role#

As an intern in the Complex Communications Advisory (CCA) team, you will work alongside experienced professionals in the New York office. This program provides hands-on experience in advising clients on reputational crises, media engagement, corporate positioning, and communication strategies. You will gain exposure to complex reputational dynamics and develop your strategic communication skills.

What you'll do#

• Support client accounts through background research, drafting press releases, updating media lists, and preparing scenario plans and crisis strategy documents.
• Contribute to communication strategies through media monitoring and pitch development.
• Conduct research using analytical and monitoring tools.
• Assist with new business development through industry research and memo writing.
• Provide ad-hoc support to the CCA team on daily projects and activities.

What you'll need#

• Currently pursuing or recently completed an undergraduate (rising junior or above) or graduate-level program in fields such as Communications, Marketing, Political Science, Journalism, or Business Administration.
• Excellent research, analysis, and writing skills, with a general understanding of the strategic communications industry and media landscape.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Excel.
• Ability to manage time, balance multiple projects, and meet deadlines while maintaining quality.
• A proactive attitude and the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
• Previous experience in communications, marketing, policy, journalism, or consulting is appreciated.
• Ability to work a minimum of 20 hours per week.

• Location: New York, New York.
• Modality: Hybrid, with a minimum of 4 days per week in the office.
• Term: Summer 2026 (June 2 to August 21).
• Status: Paid internship.
• Requirements: Applicants must reside in the U.S. throughout the internship semester.
