About the role#
Dexmate is hiring a PhD Research Intern to join our engineering team. You will focus on building the foundation for physical AI by developing new algorithms and methods to increase robot dexterity. This role involves working across multiple disciplines including robotics, reinforcement learning, control, perception, and large language models.
What you'll do#
- Develop and implement learning-based algorithms for robot manipulation and navigation on real hardware.
- Train and fine-tune large-scale machine learning models.
- Conduct research across robotics, perception, and control systems.
- Collaborate with other teams to create a diverse set of manipulation skills for our robots.
- Set up machine learning experiments and analyze the resulting data.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a PhD program for Computer Science, Robotics, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
- At least 2 years of experience conducting independent research.
- A proven track record of research excellence with publications in top conferences or journals like NeurIPS, ICML, ICLR, CVPR, RSS, CoRL, or ICRA.
- Proficiency with deep learning frameworks such as PyTorch.
- Experience with robot simulators like MuJoCo, Isaac Gym, Isaac Sim, SAPIEN, or Drake.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- You must have and maintain U.S. work authorization.

- Compensation: $35 to $75 per hour.
- Employment: Full-time, rolling term.
