The Radiology Technologist Intern (Nights) works under close supervision to perform general radiographic and fluoroscopic examinations. This role involves applying ionizing radiation while ensuring patient safety, comfort, and dignity. This is a full-time, paid internship position.
What you'll do#
- Perform high-quality general radiographic and fluoroscopic imaging studies by selecting appropriate software parameters.
- Operate PACS applications, including image management, quality assurance, and workflow tasks.
- Ensure patient safety and comfort by following established guidelines, including the use of two patient identifiers.
- Prepare and assist in the administration of contrast agents while screening for potential allergies.
- Maintain imaging equipment by performing scheduled cleanings and tests, and notify staff of any malfunctions.
- Document pertinent clinical information and manage patient data within the Radiology Information System.
- Maintain a clean and orderly work environment by stocking supplies and disinfecting equipment.
- Participate in departmental huddles, meetings, and in-service training.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a college program specializing in Radiologic Technology.
- Completion of at least the first year of the program.
- Current BLS-Basic Life Support (BLS/CPR) certification from the American Heart Association.
- Ability to operate general radiographic and fluoroscopic equipment.
- Knowledge of age-specific patient needs and the ability to interpret physician order requests.
