About the role#
Denver Health is seeking a Radiology Technologist Intern to perform general radiographic and fluoroscopic examinations under the supervision of a technologist and radiologist. This role focuses on providing technical imaging support while ensuring patient safety, comfort, and high-quality image production.
What you'll do#
- Perform high-quality general radiographic and fluoroscopic imaging studies by selecting appropriate software parameters.
- Operate PACS applications, including image management, routing, and pre-fetching tasks.
- Transmit clinical information and images to the PACS system immediately following examinations.
- Ensure patient safety and comfort by following established care guidelines and using patient identifiers.
- Assist in the preparation and administration of contrast agents and screen for potential allergies.
- Maintain imaging equipment through scheduled cleanings and tests, and report malfunctions to supervisory staff.
- Keep the working environment clean and orderly by stocking supplies and disinfecting equipment.
- Document patient data and examination information in the Radiology Information System (RIS).
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a college program specializing in Radiologic Technology, with completion of at least the first year.
- Valid Basic Life Support (BLS/CPR) certification from the American Heart Association or American Red Cross.
- Demonstrated knowledge of operating general radiographic and fluoroscopic equipment.
- Competency in performing general radiographic and fluoroscopic imaging studies.
- Understanding of how to address the age-specific needs of patients.
