Intern I, Pharmacy

About the role#

The Pharmacy Intern I role is designed to help individuals learn and practice the operational and clinical skills required for a career as a licensed pharmacist. Working under the supervision of a pharmacist, you will perform pharmacy-related functions to ensure the safe and effective use of medications within the health system. This is a paid, full-time, on-site position.

What you'll do#

• Fill and deliver medications under the supervision of a licensed pharmacist.
• Compound medications for outpatient sales or delivery to patient care areas.
• Handle and triage telephone and window inquiries.
• Maintain adequate supply levels to ensure continuous patient care.
• Coordinate insurance billing, including third-party prescriptions.
• Process patient information using appropriate systems.
• Collaborate with pharmacy leadership, nurses, and providers to improve patient outcomes.
• Participate in departmental meetings, huddles, and training sessions.

What you'll need#

• High School Diploma or GED.
• Active enrollment in an accredited School of Pharmacy.
• Current PHARMIN-Pharmacy Intern license from the DORA Department of Regulatory Agencies.
• Knowledge of basic pharmacy practices and procedures.
• Strong mathematical, organizational, and communication skills.
• Ability to work effectively as a team member with high attention to detail.
