The Pharmacy Intern I role is designed to help individuals learn and practice the operational and clinical skills required for a career as a licensed pharmacist. Working under the supervision of a pharmacist, you will perform pharmacy-related functions to ensure the safe and effective use of medications within the health system. This is a paid, full-time, on-site position.
What you'll do#
- Fill and deliver medications under the supervision of a licensed pharmacist.
- Compound medications for outpatient sales or delivery to patient care areas.
- Handle and triage telephone and window inquiries.
- Maintain adequate supply levels to ensure continuous patient care.
- Coordinate insurance billing, including third-party prescriptions.
- Process patient information using appropriate systems.
- Collaborate with pharmacy leadership, nurses, and providers to improve patient outcomes.
- Participate in departmental meetings, huddles, and training sessions.
What you'll need#
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Active enrollment in an accredited School of Pharmacy.
- Current PHARMIN-Pharmacy Intern license from the DORA Department of Regulatory Agencies.
- Knowledge of basic pharmacy practices and procedures.
- Strong mathematical, organizational, and communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively as a team member with high attention to detail.
