About the role#
The Human Resources Intern supports initiatives focused on improving processes, employee experience, data quality, and operational effectiveness. This project-based role provides hands-on experience in HR operations, analytics, technology, and project management. You will own assigned projects from research and discovery through to recommendations and implementation.
What you'll do#
- Lead HR projects by developing plans, coordinating activities, tracking milestones, and delivering results.
- Evaluate HR processes and employee lifecycle activities to find ways to improve efficiency and consistency.
- Collect, validate, and analyze HR data to identify trends, measure performance, and create reports or dashboards.
- Support HRIS, compliance, audit, and documentation initiatives, including process mapping and system testing.
- Complete at least one significant project from start to finish and present your findings to HR leadership.
What you'll need#
- Current pursuit of a bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Management, Industrial/Organizational Psychology, or Data Analytics. Sophomore, junior, or senior standing is preferred.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
- Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to handle confidential and sensitive information appropriately.
- A commitment to data accuracy and strong attention to detail.
- Previous experience in HR, project management, or data analysis is a plus but not required.
Location & details#
- Location: Lynchburg, Virginia.
- Work Modality: On-site.
- Compensation: 18 - 20 USD per hour.
- Status: Full-time, paid internship with a rolling term.
